A man has been charged following an incident near Coylton last week.

The B742 road on the outskirts of Coylton towards Ayr Hospital was closed for a period of time on Friday evening, November 10.

Police were called to reports of a crash on the road at around 5.15pm.

They confirmed that one man was charged in connection with the incident, as the road was reopened a short while later.

Ambulance crews confirmed that, thankfully, nobody had to be taken to hospital as a result of this incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called to a road crash on the B742, near Coylton around 5.15pm on Friday, 10 November. Officers attended to assist.

"The road was closed for a short time.

"One man was charged in connection with road traffic offences."
