Maybole Juniors has paid tribute to the wife of Sir Alex Ferguson following her death.
Cathy Ferguson died today, Friday October 6. Tributes were paid locally as footballing legend Alex Ferguson played for Ayr Utd during his career.
The couple married in 1966, spending 57 years as husband and wife, and had three sons, one of whom is the Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson.
A Ferguson family statement said: "We are deeply saddened to confirm the passing yesterday of Lady Cathy Ferguson.
"The family asks for privacy at this time."

And South Ayrshire side Maybole Juniors passed on their condolences.
A Facebook statement said: "Maybole juniors would like to pass on there sincere condolences to Alex Ferguson and family on the sad passing on his wife Cathy. R. I. P."
