Young adventurers from South Ayrshire have undertaken an epic walk to help their friend.

Kyle and Carrick District Scout Group took off from Ballantrae Harbour and hiked up to the top of the Old Road in order to raise money for their friend Harlie McFarlane.

Harlie is six-years-old, loves the great outdoors and lives with her foster family in the area.

And her friends at the Cubs have been helping to raise £10,000 so that Harlie can continue to enjoy outside in a special off road wheelchair.

Fiona Hainey, of Kyle and Carrick District Scout Group, said:  "As Cubs we believe that every child should be able to access adventure and the great outdoors.

"Tonight our wonderful Cubs walked from Ballantrae Harbour right up to the top of the old road to raise money so that our newest friend Harlie can get the new wheelchair that she needs to carry on exploring.

"The Cubs did great and made fantastic time, being joined by Harlie and her wonderful foster family for the last leg.

At time of publication, £9,526 has been raised to help Harlie.
