Fire crews are tackling a small blaze at the former Ayr Station Hotel site.
South Ayrshire Council confirmed the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was working to extinguish the blaze.
The building went up in flames last week, causing major disruption and damage to the building.
An SAC spokesperson said: "As part of their ongoing monitoring arrangements, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has discovered a small pocket of fire within the former Station Hotel building. SFRS are on site now working to extinguish this."
