One lucky winner from the west of Scotland has scooped a £1 million Premium Bonds jackpot in this month's draw.
The mystery winner holds bond number 159TJ094783, has £50,000 in Premium Bonds and purchased their winning bond in September 2009.
This win makes them the third millionaire from the west of Scotland. Another million-pound winner was also made in Greater Manchester.
In the October prize draw, a total of 5,786,217 prizes worth £470,853,175 will be paid out.
Since the first draw in June 1957, a total of 649 million prizes with a value of £27.7 billion have been won and distributed.
Andrew Westhead, NS&I retail director, said: “Huge congratulations to this month’s millionaires from Greater Manchester and West Scotland. We hope the jackpot is a nice treat for them in time for autumn.
“Premium bonds aren’t just about winning the jackpot - this month we paid over five million prizes worth more than £470 million, including 90 people winning £100,000. Congratulations to all our winners.”
Premium Bonds are one of the nation's most popular savings products, with the minimum investment starting at £25.
By topping up regularly each month, customers give themselves further chances to win in the monthly Premium Bonds prize draws.
