The South Ayrshire groups which will benefit from a National Lottery community cash payout have been revealed.

The National Lottery Community Fund gives grants to organisations in the UK to help improve their communities, and this year 453 awards have been handed out across the country for a combined total of £11,824,801.

Seven South Ayrshire groups will receive a share of the funding, with the groups using the money to help their local community.

Ayr and Prestwick's Men's Shed will receive £10,000 to set up and run a Men's Shed for Ayr and Prestwick, open to all regardless of gender.

Ayr Hospitial Radio SCIO will receive £4,864 of the funding, and will update its radio equipment to continue hospital broadcasts.

Girvan and South Carrick community first responders will receive £7,000 for uniforms, first aid equipment and a venue to train new responders.

Kikmichael Village Renaissancec will receive £21,249 for a community project worker who will engage with local people to tackle isolation in the area.

North Halfway Senior Citizens Club will receive £1,429 to take 38 members to Ayr for a day out and a meal in September 2023.

Troon Allotment Society will use £5,000 to purchase a ride-on lawnmower to maintain the paths and common areas surround 100 individual plots.

And Troon Round Tavle Charitable Fund will receive £4,398 to purchase a container to store their event kit used to stage Christmas and firework events.
