A housebuilder will become a local football team's main sponsor.

As part of an ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has confirmed support for Troon Football Club’s 2011 team, revealed as the team's new strip sponsor.

The Troon FC 2011 team trains at Portland Park.

They play matches in Troon as well as across the wider Ayrshire area, and Taylor Wimpey’s donation marks a key milestone as new homes at Princess Gate and Queen’s Court in Troon are sold out for this year.

'Generous donation'

Commenting on the support it has received from Taylor Wimpey, Andi Roy from Troon FC 2011 said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation.

"This is a great team of boys who are really talented and it’s fantastic for them to have new strips to play in. On behalf of everyone at Troon FC 2011, I would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland.”

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Troon FC 2011 with funding towards their new set of strips for the team.

"In fact, we understand their first match this season where they revealed their new strip was a complete success, with an 11-0 scoreline against their opposition!

“The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes. Being able to work with local businesses and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us and it’s great to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in local communities.”
