A 62-year-old Ayr woman has run away and joined the circus.
June Fergusson has joined the buzz around Zippos Circus, which is currently holding daily events at the Low Green.
After her first challenge of joining members of the Mongolian troupe, June was feeling the pressure.
Things got even more serious when knives were thrown at her by Toni from the Czech Republic before flying with aerialists Paulo dos Santos from Brazil and Jackie Louise from the UK.
June told the Advertiser: "I've done quite a bit of dancing and work out in the gym and can't wait to try my hand at Circus skills with Zippos Circus, Scotlands favourite circus.
"I can't believe how strenuous this is, I thought I was fit, but this is something else."
The Ayr local now has nothing but praise for the members of the circus after spending time in their shoes.
She was also shocked to find out the circus' trapeeze artist suspended himself only by his teeth and his ankle at the top of the Big Top, with no safety harness or net to catch him if he fell.
However, with nerves calmed, June too was suspended high above the circus ring.
Brought safely down to earth, June was applauded by the whole cast of the show who had been watching her every move.
Paul dos Santos, the multi talented star of the show, invited her to come and run away with the circus.
June added: "You're all super fit, I'd have to train hard to keep up with you all.
"I can't wait to see the show, these guys are just tremendous."
Zippos Circus will be in Ayr at the Low Green until Sunday, August 13 with two and three performances everyday.
