A week's worth of roadworks close to Prestwick Airport begin tonight (August 10).
Amey is carrying out essential resurfacing work on the A78.
The work will involve overnight closures between 8pm and 6am each night, as well as daytime lane closures.

A signed diversion will be in operation. An Amey spokesperson added: "We thank road users for their patience and co-operation while this essential work takes place."
Traffic management will be removed by 6am on Thursday, August 17.
Diversions will be in place for the duration of the work.
Traffic will be instructed to head south along the A79 through Prestwick before turning left onto the B743 Heathfield Road and following to Whitletts Roundabout to join the A77.
