ENTRY has now opened for a popular Ayrshire 10k road race - with hundred expected to participate.
The Dundonald 10k road race is one of the busiest events held in the lead up to the village's popular highland games.
Taking place on Wednesday, August 2, at 7.30pm, there are up to 300 spaces in the race - though over half of these have already been filled.
This event is organised by The Dundonald Games Societ, and sponsored by Irvine based Scott Brown Fitness, as it looks to build anticipation to games day.
The event has been highly popular in previous years and, as an additional bonus, this for the first time there will be electronic timing provided by perfect timing.
The race takes a scenic, undulating route which begins at Drybridge Road, Dundonald and finishes at Dundonald Castle.
The route runs to Symington and back and will be clearly marked and marshalls will be in attendance. Water stations will be available mid-race and at the finish.
This is a Scottish Athletics Licensed event conducted under UK Athletics Rules.
Participants must be aged 15 or over on race date to take part, and the event is a pre-entry event only. No entries will be taken on the day.
Those wishing to participate can sign up here - at a cost of £17, or £15 for Scottish, English or Welsh Athletics members.
Registration begins at 6pm at the Dundonald Activity Centre on Castle Drive in Dundonald - where runners will receive their chip and bib before the race begins.
