ART lovers in South Ayrshire are being invited to enjoy an art demonstration from a leading contemporary Scottish Colourist this summer.
Tom Watt will give a demonstration of his work at the Lochgreen House Hotel and Spa in Troon next month.
Born in Montrose in 1951, Tom studied drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art from 1971-1975 under Philipson, Peploe, Cumming and Michie.
A career in teaching followed, ultimately leading to the post of Head of Art at James Gillespie’s High School in Edinburgh.
Tom continued painting while teaching, mostly commissioned works, but left teaching in 1991 and since then has devoted all his time to painting.
His subjects have included the small fishing villages of Fife, the canals of Venice and the Tuscan and Gascon countryside.
The demonstration takes place at the hotel on Thursday, August 3, from 10.30am until 12.30pm, though those in the audience can arrive from 10am onwards from morning coffee and shortbread before the demonstration begins.
A package including the demonstration and a two-course lunch with wine thereafter is available from the hotel for £45 per person.
To book, call the hotel 01292 313343.
