A MAN had to be taken to hospital following a late night attack in an Ayr street.
Now police officers are looking for more information following the "unprovoked attack" on Russell Drive.
The incident took place shortly after 11pm on Monday, July 10.
Police say a 41-year-old man was walking along the road, where Ayr's Newton Primary School is located.
He was then approached and attacked by another man.
The victim sustained facial and hand injuries which required hospital treatment.
Police are now hoping that the public can assist with their investigations into the incident.
Detective Constable Liam Campbell said: “This appears to have been an unprovoked attack and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
“If you were in the area at the time and have dash-cam footage that could help or live nearby and have private CCTV then please get in touch.”
Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 4411 of Monday, July 10, 2023.
