IT IS fair to say that Chelsea footballer Erin Cuthbert has enjoyed a career filled with honours - now she has been honoured by her alma mater.
Yesterday, Tuesday July 4, Erin Cuthbert - or should we say, Doctor Erin Cuthbert - received an Honorary Doctorate from Ayr based the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).
The Chelsea and Scotland star, who featured for both Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow City north of the border, has won 16 honours so far in only ten seasons of football.
She has also racked up 58 appearances for her national team, scoring 20 goals in the process, aged just 24.
Cuthbert has also picked up a number of individual accolades along the way, including being named Scotland Player of the Year twice, Chelsea Player of the Year and being named in the Women's Super League Team of the Year.
Described as "a fantastic footballer and role model", Cuthbert previously attended UWS during her time in Scotland.
She also combined her professional football career with studies at the Open University.
