DRIVERS on one of Ayrshire's busiest commuter routes were experiencing delays due to a report of a vehicle fire today, Tuesday July 4.
Traffic Scotland have reported on the issue which they say is affecting the A77 between the Bellfield interchange and the Grassyards junction.
Northbound delays were said to be around 13 minutes, and caution was urged, with traffic heavy around the time of the incident.

While the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) later confirmed thevehicle fire which they say affected a van.
A SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.18pm on Tuesday, July 4 to reports of a vehicle on fire near the A77 Bellfield Interchange.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one van.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
Police Scotland also attended and confirmed there were no injuries. The vehicle has now been recovered.
