Troon station’s car park will close shortly to enable the reinstatement of the fire-damaged building.
The car park will be closed from Monday, June 26, with work to begin on Saturday, July 1.
The car park, adjacent to platform one, will be used to establish a site compound, an area to assemble the station’s new canopies and to site the crane that will lift them into position.
From 12.01am on Monday, June 26, the car park will be fully closed to vehicles and will remain closed until the completion of all works in summer 2024.
Ahead of work to construct the new the station building, the replacement platform canopies - destroyed in the 2021 fire - will be assembled and installed.
This will begin on Saturday, July 1 between 11pm and 7am and will continue for 15 weeks on Saturday nightshifts and on weekdays between 8am and 6pm.
Helen Agnew, Network Rail’s project lead for Troon station, said: “The canopy installation at Troon station is a vital part of the station redevelopment and the closure of the car park is unavoidable to enable safe access to the site.
“While we understand the short-term impact of this work is inconvenient, the long-term benefit will be a new, modern station building with improved facilities that will serve residents of, and visitors to, the town and will enhance the community for many years to come.
“Thank you to everyone for their understanding and patience while we work to deliver the new and improved station.”
