POLICE have issued a statement after officers were seen standing guard next to a burned out vehicle on a South Ayrshire road.
Members of the public spotted officers watching over the burnt-out shell on the A719 between Maybole and Culzean, close to the Dunure turn-off, on Tuesday, April 4.

Police Scotland told the Advertiser on Wednesday that the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.50pm on Tuesday, 4 April, 2023, police received a report of a car on fire on the A719 near Maybole.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”
