A South Ayrshire golf club owner is set to be charged in the United States.
Turnberry owner, and former President, Donald Trump has been indicted by a Manhattan grand jury after years of investigations into his personal, political and business dealings.

The exact charges were unclear as they remain under seal however they stem from payments made during the 2016 presidental campaign to silence claims of an extramarital sexual encounter.
The indictment is the first ever against a US President.

In a statement confirming the charges, defence lawyers Susan Necheles and Joseph Tacopina said Mr Trump “did not commit any crime”, adding: “We will vigorously fight this political prosecution in court.”
In 2014, Mr Trump purchased the Turnberry hotel and golf courses from Leisurecorp for $60 million, and the resort was renamed Trump Turnberry.
