A BALLANTRAE estate has been shortlisted as a candidate for "Best Luxury Escape" on a new BBC TV series.
"Scotland’s Greatest Escape", a new BBC Scotland series, has recognised Ballantae's Glenapp Castle, a 21-bedroom luxurious PoB Hotel and Relais and Chateaux Hotel, as a contender for their ‘Best Luxury Escape’ award.
The BBC’s panel of industry experts received thousands of nominations for this year’s TV shortlist.
Glenapp Castle was acknowledged in the show, where experts said: "Our industry panel was impressed by its traditional luxurious style.

"Built in 1870 for one of the Iron Lords of Lanarkshire, this place is steeped in high-end history; it’s even rumoured that Winston Churchill and President Eisenhower met here secretly to discuss the D Day landings."
BBC presenters said that being part of the series is a mark of excellence and the positive experience the team’s contributors had when participating in the show and visiting the various escapes.
The show aired on Wednesday, February 15 on the BBC Scotland channel.
Episode one was ‘Best Luxury Escape’, featuring Glenapp Castle and the series will now run for a further seven weeks.
