A PRESTWICK couple are among four sets of parents celebrating after a busy start to 2023 for Ayrshire's maternity staff.
May and Myoaung Chit's baby daughter Adalyn, a little sister to son Alexander, was born at the Ayrshire Maternity Unit at Crosshouse at 3.35am on January 1, weighing 7lb 9oz.
But the Prestwick couple weren't first, or even second, in line for Ayrshire's first baby of the new year.
That honour went to Dominic, who arrived at 12.06am, weighing 6lb 8oz, to parents Shauna Moodie and Demetri Moffat from Hurlford.
Just over an hour later, Chloe Jameson and Jack Beckett of Kilmarnock welcomed daughter Amelia at 1.09am, weighing 6lb 5oz.
And minutes after Adalyn's arrival, Tehreem and Mohammed from Hurlford welcomed a daughter at 3.38am.
A spokesperson for NHS Ayrshire and Arran said: "We wish all our new arrivals and their families a very happy and healthy new year."
