A HANDY postcode checker tool has been created to show the change in the UK's high streets.
The BBC used data from Ordnance Survey, a national mapping agency, to put together the tool which allows residents to see how pandemic affected the country's retail, food and drink establishments.
Overall, there were 9,300 fewer retail outlets in the UK in March 2022 than March 2020, as shoppers switched to online stores.
The data found that retail outlets were on a decline along with banks and nightclubs, but that food and drink, hair and beauty as well as tattoo establishments were on the rise.
