A MANHUNT has been launched after a woman was sexually assaulted in Prestwick at the weekend.
Police say the attack on a 21-year-old woman happened in Main Street, near Boydfield Gardens, at around 1.30am on Sunday, November 13.
A description has been issued of a man police want to trace in connection with the incident.
The suspect is white, around 30-40 years of age with short, dark hair with a local accent.
He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket, light blue jeans and dark-coloured footwear.
He ran off into Boydfield Gardens and on to Station Road, before running into Midton Road.
Officers are gathering relevant CCTV footage and reviewing it for any additional information.
Detective Constable Graham Cuthill said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have any information about this incident to get in touch.
"If anyone saw or noticed anything suspicious, or has any information on the suspect, please do get in touch with us.
"In particular, anyone with a dash cam is asked to check the footage as it may have captured images which could assist the investigation.”
