AN AYR restaurant has received an award which places it within the top ten per cent of restaurants worldwide.

The Ghillie Dhu, on Burns Statue Square, received the 2022 Tripadvisor Traveller's Choice 2022 award this week after receiving consistent positive reviews.

The local 'bar and scullery' is popular with residents and visitors alike for its choice of meat and seafood dishes.

A Ghillie Dhu representative said in a statement: "A massive thanks to you, you and all of you!
