ZUMBA fans from across South Ayrshire and beyond packed in to the Walker Halls in Troon for a busy afternoon of fitness and dancing.
Organised by Ayrshire fitness instructors Pauline Hughes and Meg Bennett, the three-hour event featured a series of Latin-themed workouts to boost the participants’ cardiovascular fitness, balance, co-ordination and agility.
Pauline, based in Irvine, is a former Scottish champion Latin American dancer, and has been a member of the Zumba Instructors’ Network since November 2014.
Her passion for dancing and fun ensured the floor at the venue was packed to capacity as participants joined existing friends and made plenty of new ones too.
Pauline was joined by fellow instructors Sandra Harnes, Nadia Alkoc and Nikii Fenton as well as other members of the Zumba Instructors Network from across Scotland for a day while Pauline herself described as “a day of celebrating all that is good in our community”.
Posting to social media afterwards, Pauline said: “Where do I begin?
“Zumbafest Scotland was a vibe. A perfect storm. Our community showed up! You gave your heart and soul and danced for a full three hours.
To every participant who showed up, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without you there is no us.”
Next year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2023.
