WHITLETTS Post Office is set to re-open at a brand new location.

The previous branch at Main Road closed in September 2021 due to the resignation of the operator, but it has now been confirmed that the new store will open with full hours in effect.

However, Post Office has confirmed that some customers may struggle with the entrance steps, with the new Postmaster looking to work with South Ayrshire Council and contractors to look at solutions for improved access.

Scott Hamilton, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring a Post Office to this area as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.”

Whitletts Post Office is to re-open later this year on an unconfirmed date at a new location – Libbys Convenience Store, Premier Express, 82-84 Main Road, Whitletts, Ayr, KA8 0LJ.

The opening hours of the new branch will be Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm; Saturday: 9am – 12noon. 

The opportunity to give feedback will close on October 4, 2022.
