A POPULAR bar and restaurant in the centre of Ayr has gone on the market – just a few weeks after the owners closed the doors.
Located on the junction of South Harbour Street and Fort Street, The Waterfront has open views to the north over the River Ayr.
The restaurant closed its doors in July, with the owners saying that hardships "over the past couple of years" lay behind their decision to shut up shop after 10 years.
A well-known venue set within an attractive single storey building, including a large terrace, The Waterfront also benefits from a substantial private car park to the west of the building.
The premises, which cover 3,145 square feet, are being marketed for sale or lease by Shepherd Chartered Surveyors.
The premises are fully fitted to a high standard and comprise reception, restaurant, lounge bar, commercial kitchen, kitchen stores, chilled cellarage and customer toilets.
The business won the 'Gastro Pub of the Year' prize in the 2017 Food Awards Scotland and was named best licensed premises in the Ayrshire Retail Business Awards in the same year.
The Waterfront has inside seating for 100 with seating for 80 on the terrace.
Kevin Bell from Shepherd Chartered Surveyors said: “In addition to continued licensed trade use the premises have potential for residential development subject to planning. Interested parties should make their own enquiries with South Ayrshire Council.”
Offers over £395,000 are being invited. Alternatively, rental offers over £35,000 per annum are invited, plus a £30,000 ingoing premium.
Interested parties should contact Shepherd's on 01292 267987.
