A POPULAR British television show and magazine has listed its choice of the very best picnic spots in the UK...but not a single location in Scotland made it on to the list.

With the warm weather and longer nights, Countryfile ran their list of the 21 best areas to pack up a few sandwiches and head off t0 - but only areas in England, Wales and Northern Ireland were included.

The Countryfile article said: "Picnicking is a great excuse to explore the countryside, and with many of us now working from home, there are more opportunities for picnics as the spring weather begins to warm up.

"No matter where you are in the country, you won't have to travel far to enjoy your food while taking in spectacular views outdoors.

"Here, we've listed some of our favourite, most inspiring spots for outdoor eating in the UK."

Scotland is home to some of the best scenic views in the world, with tourists from all over the world flocking to the country to enjoy its natural scenery.
