A TROUPE of actors from Ayr recently took their show about the different stages of dementia on the road, with big performances in Glasgow and Ayr.
Stopped Clock Productions are a not for profit theatre group who provide a platform for artists to showcase their work. They performed their show, The Decline of Me, at The Market Inn in Ayr last Thursday, before a show at Webster’s Theatre in Glasgow the following day.
The group formed in November 2019, but had to hold off plans due to Covid-19.
Alistair Dempster, 25, a care home worker, who is from Cumnock originally and has now lived in Ayr for five years said: “We are now back up and running and very excited to see what the future holds.”
The play was written in 2019, by Alistair, who described it as: “An emotional piece of theatre that explores the different stages of dementia.”
The group, which includes Georgia Raymond, 23, from Ayr, Rebekah Copeland, 23, from Dalmellington, Draya Miller, 22, from Kilmarnock and Matthew Jack, 21, from Glasgow are hoping to perform their show at the Edinburgh Fringe as well as revisiting The Decline of Me next year.
