Whitletts Victoria have announced that the club are set to return to Whitletts after a gap of 11 years.
This was confirmed last week by South Ayrshire Council after they agreed the sale of Dam Park, the Vic’s home for the past 11 years, to Ayr Rugby Club.
The move sees the West of Scotland Football League side returning home to Whitletts to play at the football park in Glenmuir Place, behind the Activity Centre.
The clubs’ charity, Vics in the Community, will take over the running of the football facility on a long term lease and once renovation works are complete the club will play their home matches at the new ground.
Club spokesman John Dalton said that he was delighted with the move and insisted the pitch will remain a community asset to the people of Ayr.
He said: “When we established Vics in the Community back in 2018, it was with a view to giving something back to the local community.
“Those community values will never be lost and the facility will be a hub for the local community to use but this is tremendous news that after an 11 year stay at Dam Park that the club can now plan our return home.”
