A STALWART business of the Prestwick high street is to go on sale, with the owners announcing their plans to retire.
Laurence Hood Family Butcher’s is being put on the market by Shepherd Partner Surveyors, but fear-not meat lovers, the plan is for a butcher to remain on the site.
The property will be sold fully fitted with the current owners producing all pies, sausages, burgers etc on site.
Kevin Bell, of Shepherd Partner Surveyors, said: “The property has been established as a butcher for over 100 years, our client having owned the business for 37 years, and reluctantly selling due to retirement. The business is a traditional butcher, offering quality produce with an excellent reputation and well supported in Prestwick and beyond.
“Trade is predominantly generated from counter sales although a range of local businesses are supplied, including restaurants and hotels. Our client is retiring but operates the business with a full-time butcher who has been with the business for 15 years.
“Having seen local retail markets pick up as a result of a resurgence of people shopping and supporting local operators throughout the pandemic, we believe this business offers genuine potential for future growth.
“Our clients may consider selling the business and lease the premises to the business purchaser. In addition, a sale with vacant possession may be considered.”
Offers in excess of £150,000 are invited. Interested parties should contact the sole selling and letting agent on 01292 267987.
