ALL remaining performances of this year's pantomime at the Gaiety Theatre have been cancelled, the venue has announced.
The theatre's owners took to social media on Saturday to announce that that day's performances of Jamie and the Unicorn would not be going ahead due to suspected cases of Covid-19 – and that Sunday's show was cancelled too.
And on Monday morning the venue published a statement on Facebook stating that all remaining performances of the show had been cancelled.
A spokesperson said: "With a heavy heart, we can now confirm the remaining Jamie and the Unicorn performances will not be going ahead.
"We had hoped to complete the remainder of the week, but with more confirmed positive cases in the company, it will not be possible.
"We are sincerely sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience this might cause. Please rest assured that all ticket-holders will receive an email with information on alternative options.
"We ask for your patience while working through refunds with a reduced team.
"We have loved having the panto back on at The Gaiety, and want to thank everyone who made it so special.
"Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you back safely in 2022."
The panto's run began on Monday, December 13 and was due to continue until Sunday, January 9.
