Twitter users have begun to report issues with the social media platform amid the global outage affecting it competitors.
Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp have reportedly crashed with users reporting issues across the social media and messaging platforms.
According to Down Detector, reports of issues started at around 4pm on Monday Afternoon.
The reason for the issues surrounding the three companies owned by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg remain unknow.
The platforms confirmed on Twitter they are aware of issues and are working to resolve them – but all three remained down at 8pm on Monday.
According to web service monitoring platform DownDetector, thousands of people reported outages before 5pm.
Data on its website showed that almost 50,000 people had reported the outages on Facebook.
Most complaints cited issues with the website (72%), while others were linked to issues with the server connection and the app.
Moe than 75,000 had complained about WhatsApp, with 43% reporting issues with the app itself, while 28% cited the server connection and 28% relating to sending messages.
More than 30,000 Instagram users also had similar complaints, with 51% relating to the app, 26% over the server connection and 23% citing the website.
A graph on the DownDetector website showed a clear spike from after 4pm.
Is Twitter down?
Now users on the micro-blogging site Twitter have complained about an error message that keeps appearing on the app.
The message reads: “Uh oh, an error has encountered. Try again.”
Users have also complained that tweets are not loading on the site.
Downdetector shows a sharp spike in users reporting issues with the platform at around 8pm on Monday night.
40% of reported issues come form the website while the app (37%) and comments (22%) are also causing concern.
At the time of writing Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram are still down for users around the globe.
