Following a serious fire at Troon railway station, trains between Ayr and Glasgow have been cancelled indefinitely until a full safety inspection can be carried out.
Police have also confirmed that the fire that destroyed the railway building on platform one was not started deliberately and that nobody was injured.
Trains to and from Glasgow will leave and terminate at Kilwinning with no replacement bus services until at least Tuesday.
A spokesperson from Scotrail said: "Following the serious fire at Troon station on Saturday, 17 July, Please be aware that you will not be able to travel by train from Glasgow Central to Ayr until further notice.
"Services from Glasgow Central to Ayr will start and terminate at Kilwinning and no alternative transport will be provided today or tomorrow (Monday, 19 July).
"The blaze caused extensive damage to the station building on platform one as well as an overhead power cable. Because of this, ScotRail and Network Rail have closed the line until the structural integrity of the building has been assessed.
"Nobody was injured in the fire and although the exact cause of the blaze is unknown, police have confirmed it was not started deliberately.
"Services between Glasgow and Largs / Ardrossan will run normally, but customers should keep an eye on the app/Journey Check for the latest service information."
