Social distancing and spending more time outdoors have become the norm and with that in mind restaurant company Buzzworks plan to have an outdoor terrace area for their popular Troon venue, Lido.
They’ve submitted a planning application to South Ayrshire Council for the outdoor seating area, which will be on the pavement outside the restaurant on West Portland Street.
They hope to have six tables placed outside on the pavement, which seat two each.
The pavement is currently 2.7metres from road to wall and Buzzworks say that even with their tables, there will still be two metres for pedestrians to pass.
In a supporting document to the planning application they say that where possible, they’d like to develop external spaces at their 12 venues into stylish beer gardens or eating terrace areas:
They said: “Some of Buzzworks’ venues are based in town centres with limited external spaces. Where there is a space to work with this will hopefully be developed into a terrace. Where there is sufficient pavement width the possibility of street tables will be explored.”
The application is currently being considered by the planning department.
