The Ayrshire Hospice has launched a new appeal where supporters can purchase a beautiful steel forget-me-not ornament in memory of a loved one and in aid of the local charity.
Ron Swanson, Assistant Fundraising Manager at Ayrshire Hospice explained the appeal and said: “2020 has been a difficult year for everyone and also a reflective time for many.
“One of the most heartbreaking aspects of the current COVID-19 restrictions is that many people have sadly been unable to attend funeral services which can be increasingly difficult for bereaved families.”
The Ayrshire Hospice had hoped to have a ‘memory meadow’ display of forget-me-nots at The Dick Institute in Kilmarnock however due to the Tier 4 restrictions across Ayrshire, this will have to be postponed until a later date.
But supporters are still able to purchase a forget-me-not now so that they have it in time for Christmas.
Ron added: “As we approach Christmas, we are proud to launch our first forget-me-not appeal to remember loved ones in a personal way at what can be a very poignant time of year while raising much needed funds for our local hospice during the current pandemic.”
The minimum donation for a forget-me-not is £25 and all contributions will be gratefully received towards the round-the-clock care and services delivered across the community by Ayrshire Hospice. To make a donation towards one of the lovely forget-me-nots in memory of a loved one, please either phone the fundraising office on 01292 288488 or visit www.ayrshirehospice.org/appeal/forget-me-not-appeal to order yours today.
Supporters will be able to arrange to collect their forget-me-not from Ayrshire Hospice or it can be posted to them before Christmas so they can put in their own garden or perhaps at a local cemetery or crematorium in memory of a loved one if they wish.
