AN Ayr house builder has been named as one of the UK’s best site managers.
The National House Building Council, the leading new home warranty and issuance provider, hailed Stuart Gillespie ,of Mactaggart & Mickel Homes Ltd, in the first round of its flagship competition for their site in Ayr.
The contest is dedicated to recognised site managers who achieve the highest standards in house building.
Over 450 site managers in the UK have won a ‘Quality Award’ in the first round of the NHBC’s Pride in the Jobs Awards 2020.
Being selected as one of the UK’s top site managers is testament to their commitment to delivering quality homes for their customers.
By recognising the very best site managers across the UK, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence, the competition celebrates the vital role that site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites and to exacting construction quality standards.
Stuart will go on to compete for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards that are planned to be announced at a series of virtual events in the autumn.
Malcolm MacLeod, NHBC regional director, said: “Pride in the job has been pivotal in improving the quality of new homes or decades and it’s fantastic to be able to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
“A site manager’s role can be tough, at times perhaps one of the most challenging in house building and their constant drive for excellence is very much at the heart of the competition.
“Congratulations to Stuart Gillespie and all the 2020 Quality Award winners in Scotland region – be proud of your achievements.”
