AN AYR singer and songwriter is showing his support for NHS staff by hosting a live session on Facebook with all proceeds going to charity.
Chris Andreucci, 21, who is signed to Century Music Group in Nashville, will be performing a live session on his Facebook page at 8pm tonight (Friday, April 3) with viewers able to use a virtual tip jar and request songs for him to play.
All money raised will go to the NHS Charities Together COVID-19 urgent appeal which supports NHS staff and volunteers caring for patients with coronavirus.
Chris’ management team have already declared that they will donate the first £100 to the appeal.
The singer said: “It is incredible what NHS staff are doing amid this pandemic. They are on the frontline in a very scary situation.
“With everyone applauding their work on Thursdays at 8pm I wanted to show my appreciation for the work they are doing and hopefully share some positivity.”
Chris also spoke of the challenges facing musicians during the COVID-19 pandemic with many performances either postponed or cancelled.
He said: “Like all musicians, I have taken a hit financially which is frustrating but every cloud has a silver lining and with the Facebook sessions it still gives me a chance to interact with the audience.”
He added: “I am sure it won’t be too long before we are back performing in front of an audience and all having a good time.”
