The BREASTFEEDING Network were at The Quay Zone in Girvan in a bid to help make Scotland more breastfeeding friendly. The event was part of Fire Starter Festival, a new Scottish Government scheme.
Julie Peterkin, from the Breastfeeding Network, was joined by some local mums, their kids and local healthcare practitioners to encourage mums to feel more comfortable breastfeeding in public.
Julie said: “Part of this is letting people know that it is not ok to suggest to a mum feeding her child that she covers up, goes to a toilet or moves away from other people. An encouraging smile is all that is needed.”
