No injuries have been reported following a car fire on the A78 earlier today, according to police.
Emergency services attended the blaze on the A78 between Troon and Irvine this afternoon at around 1pm.
The car was seen engulfed in flames, but no indication has been given as to what caused the fire.
A police spokesperson said: "Around 1pm on Monday, 12 Feruary 2024, police received a report of a car on fire on the A78 between Irvine and Troon.
"There were no reports of anyone injured and SFRS attended and extinguished the fire."
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service added: “We were alerted at 12.51pm on Monday, 12 February, to reports of a car on fire on the A78 near Troon.
“Operations control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, where firefighters extinguished the flames.
“No casualties were reported, and the crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
