Traffic on the A77 was delayed this afternoon after a vehicle fire north of Ayr.
Police and fire crews were at the scene between the Dutch House roundabout and the Bellfield Interchange at around 12.15pm this afternoon, after receiving reports of a car on fire on the road.
The road was closed in the northbound direction while crews attended the incident.

No injuries were reported and the road was cleared a short time later.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "“Around 12.15pm on Wednesday, 23 March, police were called to the A77 near the Spittalhill junction, following a report of a car on fire.
"There were no injuries reported and the carriageway was cleared around 1pm.”
